Study Skills/Learning Techniques
About the workshop Using the latest educational research, we are going to show you what learning techniques work and how to use them effectively. This is an online workshop. Who is this workshop for? Children aged 7 - 18 years old, who are preparing for exams or just want to improve their progress at school. If your child is outside this age range, please email contact us and we will see if we can accommodate them. It is not compulsory, but parents/guardians are welcome to attend too. What will the workshop cover? - Basic introduction to brain science and learning - We will examine 5 evidence-based learning techniques, showing you how to use them effectively and which subjects they work best. How long is the workshop? The workshop is 2 hours. How many children are in the workshop? The workshop is limited to 8 children and there is the option for one parent/guardian to attend too. In-person and Online Workshops Our in-person workshops are delivered at our training site in Old Street and online courses are delivered using Zoom. Price £40 per child. Dates Sundays, 4- 6 PM.
Last Minute Exam Revision Tips
About the workshop Beat 'Exam Season Blues' with our carefully designed workshop to help create an effective last minute revision schedule that will make learning stick. This workshop is online. Who is this workshop for? Children aged 14 - 18 years old, who are preparing for vocational exams, GCSEs, A' levels or any other examinations. What will the workshop cover? - Deciding what and how to revise when you are short of time - Knowing which revision techniques work best for your subjects - Coping with exam questions - Developing test taking skills - Dealing with exam anxiety How long is the workshop? The workshop is 2 hours. How many children are in the workshop? The workshop is limited to 8 children and there is the option for one parent/guardian to attend too. Master Handwriting Skills
About the course Did you know that there is a direct correlation between good writing skills and academic success? In this course, we use fun and multi-sensory teaching methods to produce confident writers. Who is this course for? Children aged 7 - 16 years old, who lack confidence with their handwriting and are having difficulties with letter formation or have not yet mastered cursive (joined up) writing. What will the course cover? - Fine motor skills development - Posture - Pen grip - Formation of capital letters - Formation of lowercase letters - Formation of numbers - Formation of words & sentences - Spatial awareness - Joins - Handwriting speed development How long is the course? It is run over 15 sessions and each session lasts for 1 hour. How many children are in the workshop? The workshop is limited to 8 children. Get Ahead with English Grammar
About the course Throw away your boring grammar textbooks! The course offers a fresh and practical approach to teaching grammar. We cover the grammar requirements for Key Stage 2 too. Who is this course for? Children aged 7 - 11 years old, who are preparing for exams or just want to improve their English grammar before they enter secondary school. Creating Powerful Sentences
About the course What tips and tricks can make your sentences move powerful? Do fronted adverbials really make your sentences more interesting to read? The course covers easy and ready to use tips that will transform dull sentences into rich, descriptive language. We will also cover some of the English and grammar requirements for Key Stage 2. Who is this course for? Children aged 11 - 18 years old, who have completed the Academic Writing course and want to develop advanced writing skills. How long is the course? It is run over 15 sessions and each session lasts for 1 hour. How many children are in the workshop? The workshop is limited to 8 children. Transform Your Handwriting

Our 3-day intensive handwriting course is designed specifically to help you achieve exactly that! In this interactive, hands-on experience, you'll unlock the secrets of fast and legible writing. Who is this course for? Children aged 16+ years old or young adults, who want to improve the speed and clarity of their handwriting.
